All too often we see the aftermath of cyber bullying on the news—tragic accounts of young lives deeply affected by online harassment and bullying. A child you know may have already experienced cyber bullying in some form, or even taken part in it.
The internet, particularly social media, has made a huge impact on our lives over the years. It’s made it possible to meet new people from all over the world and to stay in virtual contact with those who are physically out of reach. Unfortunately, the internet is not always a safe place, especially for students and children.
Bullying can affect anyone, no matter what age. It takes on many different forms, from face-to-face harassment to online abuse, and it’s time we do something about it.
Do you know what cyber bullying is? Like bullying that takes place in the playground or school yard, it involves the use of hurtful words and threatening sentences and actions. Those who suffer from cyber bullying may find that it comes from their classmates, friends, or even from people they don’t know online.
